Why I Fish
by

I had to add this little video that I put
together because it seems so relavent to why we waste so much
time at these things. This is an adaptation of Robert
Traver's Testament of a Fisherman. Robert Traver's real
name was John Voelkler and he wrote the novel Anatomy of a
Murder which was made into the movie in the 1959 with the same
name. The movie directed by Otto Preminger is considered
by many critics as Preminger's greatest work. After Traver got
the money from his novel he resigned his seat on Michigan's
Bench and retired to fishing for the next 20 plus years of his
life.
Testament of a Fisherman is rightly
condsidered one of the best pieces in "fly fishing"
literature. I hope I have done it justice in this photo
essay.
